  1. Hi sweety,
Sorry I couldn't make last night so have decided to spending time today giving people feedback.
I love the first image it is so different to what you have done in the past. I think it really shows you moving as an artist :)
Critical thoughts...I think her skin is way too yellow it might be the reflection of her dress or my screen might also need to be calibrated again, just something to look at.

The third image down I like because of the dramatic lighting effects you have used but the leaf coming over her face is distracting so just give her a little touch up in PSD.

They were the only two things that really stood out to me as issues, the rest are great but my fav is the fist one....beautiful work honey.
    xx

  2. Hi Tina, you've certainly made it simple for me. I remember last night as you flicked through the shots that there were many with great qualities and several that ticked all the boxes. Of course you do need to cull the shots and I know that is difficult because they all become so important and like memories you don't want to let them go. I say you made it easy for me because these are so very much the strongest shots, they are the ones that I remembered most, they are the ones that others in the group chose as well.

Your flying woman is simple in concept and execution and yet so powerful, she floats and flies at the same time and you've caught her at just the right moment. The colour contrast used (yellow-blue) is perfect for his, yellow is active while blue is inactive or calming and there is a vibration between the two colours. You have also used the space very well and you understand the need for space and compositional placement.

It's clear that your intentions with the woman in the reads was to suggest a rabbit in the headlights feel. She is caught slightly off centre and perhaps moving out of frame, she has a strong yet slightly fearful look about her and the ever so slight tribal touch with the yellow make-up completes the referencing.

Revlon woman is every bit the cover page model. Beautifully clean and simp,e lighting and posing, nothing over done. Using text as you've done helps to fully contextualise the image which is so important since fashion photos are rarely without text even if it's not on the photo.

Calvin Klein was far and away the strongest shot of that series. All the elements came together, posing, lighting and overall composition and placement. The triangles made by the arms and legs unify the models as one and create a slightly active composition. The tilt of the head is enough to break this calculated structure to add the requisite interest and variety.

Lstly, or firstly as it was last night, KEEP OUT. This again was the strongest in terms of composition and the cropping out of the remainder of the graffiti was the right thing to do. There is just enough of a question to keep the interest high and one doesn't know whether the smoke is from her or not - don't know where that is going but said it anyway. Lighting and clever use of shade again.

You continue to impress with your ability to shoot work that is very well thought through while being simple and clean. I am always amazed by how much work you do and how it continues to develop.

Clearly with this group you have also demonstrated that you can edit your work which is so important. Great job, looking forward to checkpoint 4. Thanks

  3. I wish I had stayed for the checkpoint, everyone seems to be producing really amazing work. With just a quick look at these, what I can say is that each is working in a distinctly different way - they are all full of interesting and thoughtful qualities, but they are all individual shots. This can be good in that you are not "formulaic" or bad in that there is not yet a "Nikolovski signature mark" - however, you might want to keep it that way to show you can do any style as need be. Well done.

  4. Thank you all so much for your wonderful feedback, I have read everything a few times and am taking it in, really thoughtful.

I agree with the yellow and the distracting leaf pammy, i did notice both too i just put these quick edits up, i will edit the high res ones properly:)

I'm glad i chose the strongest ones J! It is hard for me to make choices, lol, but I think I am getting better at it.

Thank you Silvia, I think i know what my 'style' is and I am trying to be as open as I can be so that I am not predictable, it seems to be working so I am happy:)

    Thank you all again
